All Improvapalooza workshops take place at American Stage (163 3rd St N, St Petersburg, FL) on Sunday, October 29th.

FREE FORM with Will Luera, 10am-12pm
Explore the mechanics of free-form improvisation, an exciting and empowering genre that elevates and challenges improv performers. This mindset is built on the concept of “follow the funny” and proposes that every single moment, beat, line and movement in a show can be deconstructed and used to lead you to the next scene. During this exploration and deconstruction of content, a language and pattern are established that help define form where previously there was no form. In this 2-hour intensive, students will explore basic tools that set the foundation for free-form, such as listening, observation, being “in the moment”, pinpointing what the show wants, and fluid editing.
Will Luera is Director of Improv at Florida Studio Theatre, and hails from Improv Boston.
*Recommended for intermediate to advanced improvisers*
    Tuition $25

MUSICAL IMPROV for all levels, 12:15pm-2:15pm
SO. MUCH. FUN! Having a good singing voice is not required to take this high-energy workshop. This 2-hour class will explore the basics of breaking into musical improv fearlessly. We’ll be covering physicality, song structure, group numbers and a little bit of rhyming. If you’re looking to be more comfortable thinking on your feet and in verse, this class is for you. If you’re looking to stret your improv skills further, this is right up your alley.
Chris Friday has been performing with FST Improv for over fourteen years, and is in his second year teaching with American Stage Improv. He is joined by Serge Glushonkov, accompanist for When X Meets Y.
*Beginner to Advanced levels welcome. Suggested completion of any intro level improv course/workshop.*
