Details

  • Summer Camp meets Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. 
  • Pre-Care and After-Care are available. Pre-Care meets from 8am-9am and After-Care meets from 3pm-5pm.  
  • Summer Camp will be held at First Presbyterian Church in downtown St. Petersburg – 701 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
  • Classrooms are broken down into age groups of 5-7 and 8-12.

Pricing

  • 1 week sessions are $180
  • The 3 week musical theatre session is $525
  • A $25 discount is available for the 2nd child enrolled in the family.
  • Supervised care is available before and after camp.  Pre-care service (8am-9am) is $25 per week and after-care (3pm-5pm) is $50 per week. 
  • Financial aid is available.

Session I – June 9-13 (1 week camp)

Acting Explorers, Safari! (5-7 year olds) NEW

Let’s go on a safari!  This fun introduction to theatre features training in acting, voice, and movement.  Student’s imaginations will run wild while developing performance, social and emotional skills.  The camp finale is a safari inspired showcase for family and friends on Friday, June 13 at 5pm.

Session II – June 16-20 (1 week camp) -SOLD OUT

Acting Explorers, Camp Broadway (5-7 year olds) NEW

Sing, dance, and act!  Students will learn songs and dances, participate in skill building acting exercises, and create fun crafts.  All experience levels are welcome.  The camp finale is a Broadway inspired showcase for family and friends on Friday, June 20 at 5pm.

Acting Explorers, Fairy Tales from
Around the World (5-7 year olds) NEW

Dance with fairies on a Scottish moor or help a shipwrecked sailor from Egypt find his way home!  This fun introduction to theatre features training in acting, voice, and movement. Using acting exercises, art projects, and their own imaginations, students will explore well-loved fairy tales from around t he world.   The camp finale is a fairy tale themed showcase for family and friends on Friday, June 27 at 5pm.

Session IV – June 30-July 18 (3 week camp) -SOLD OUT

Performance Lab:  Musical Theatre - Squirm! (5-7 year olds)

Immerse your child in theatre, music, dance and visual art!  This performance oriented camp has it all.  Not only do students work to refine acting, singing and movement skills, they also design and construct their own sets and costume pieces. Students work as a true ensemble to put on a 30 minute musical. The camp finale is a performance of Squirm! for family and friends on Thursday, July 17 at 5pm.

Session V – July 21-25 (1 week camp)

Acting Explorers, Make ‘Em Laugh! (5-7 year olds)

Let your funny bone run wild in this exploration of comedy theater skills! Through improvisation, students will create quirky characters and scenes.  They will learn the fine art of slap stick and hone their comic timing. The camp finale is a laugh out loud showcase for family and friends on Friday, July 25 at 5pm.

Session VI – July 28-August 1 (1 week camp)

Acting Explorers, The Magic Trunk (5-7 year olds) NEW

Inside the trunk something mysterious and exciting awaits!  Items in our magic trunk provide the dramatic focus for this week-long theatre adventure.   Each day will build upon the next as students create and act out their story.  They will discover how to work as an ensemble while they learn to use their bodies, voices and imaginations to tell the story.   The camp finale is a showcase of their magic trunk story for family and friends on Friday, August 1 at 5pm.

Session VII – August 4-8 (1 week camp)

Acting Explorers, Shakespeare’s a Blast (5-7 year olds)

Laugh at the shenanigans of a fairy named Puck in a magical forest or plot with witches as they weave their spells!  Using imagination and play, students will be introduced to some of Shakespeare’s greatest stories.  They will get a taste for the language and the history of Elizabethan theatre through theatre games, art projects, and short performances.  The camp finale is a Shakespeare themed showcase on Friday, August 8 at 5pm.

Session I – June 9-13 (1 week camp) -SOLD OUT

Improvisation! (8-12 year olds)

Explore the fundamentals of improv comedy and become confident thinking on your feet!  In improvisational theatre the characters, dialogue and plot are created in the moment.  No scripts needed!  Students will learn comic timing, scene building, group mind, and many other improv games and techniques used in shows like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” The camp finale is an improv showcase for family and friends on Friday, June 13 at 5pm.

Musical Theatre Workshop (8-12 year olds) NEW

Take your musical theatre skills to the next level!  In this process oriented workshop, students will receive training in acting, singing and dancing that builds upon what they already love about our three week camp.  Students will expand their skills and have a lot of fun along the way.  The camp finale is a showcase of songs explored during the week for family and friends on Friday, June 20 at 5pm.

Play Makers, Outerspace! (8-12 year olds) NEW

Write and star in your own science fiction themed play!  Students will receive training in acting, voice and movement in the morning and spend the afternoon developing characters, writing dialogue and rehearsing their outerspace adventure.  The camp finale is a showcase of their original play for family and friends on Friday, June 27 at 5pm.

Comedy Tonight! (8-12 year olds)

Supercharge your comedic skills!   Explore the classic comedy of Carol Burnett, Burns and Alan, Abbot and Costello and many others and learn what makes their work so timeless.  Students will discover comedy sketches from Vaudeville to the golden age of TV sitcoms.  The camp finale is a showcase of comedy sketches for family and friends on Friday, July 25 at 5pm.

Session VI – July 28-August 1 (1 week camp) -SOLD OUT

Session VII – August 4-8 (1 week camp)

Camp Shakespeare (8-12 year olds)

No fear Shakespeare!  Through a variety of theatre games, art projects and collaborative performances, students will understand and interpret Shakespeare’s text.  They will learn about life in Shakespeare’s England and discover the timelessness of his stories.  The camp finale is a Shakespeare themed showcase on Friday, August 8 at 5pm.

  • SUMMER CAMP SAVINGS: A $25 discount will be applied towards tuition for the 2nd child enrolled in each family.
