THE ST. PETERSBURG LITTLE THEATRE:

Holding auditions for “Babes In Toyland”, Directed by Bill Bryant, Book & lyrics by Glen Mac Donough, Music by Victor Herbert.

WHEN: Sunday & Monday, September 12 & 13 at 7pm.  Callbacks on Tuesday, September 14 at 7pm; Production Dates: December 2-19 – 9 performances Friday and Saturday at 8:00PM / Sunday at 2:00PM.

SEEKING: 12 men – character actors (6 very strong voices) and 12 women – character actors (6 very strong voices) To play the various Mother Goose type personalities; also need numerous dancers that sing.

AUDITION INFO: All info. available at www.splt.org.  Please review script excerpts and song to aid you in audition process.  Please be prepared to sing the following Mother Goose rhymes: “Mary Had A Little Lamb”, “Rock-a-bye Baby” and “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”.  Also, learn the title song from “Babes In Toyland”

THE SALERNO THEATRE COMPANY:

Announces open auditions for our 2010-2011 Mainstage and Touring Seasons. Performing In-Residence at Carrollwood Cultural Center, Salerno Entertainment currently tours its Broadway musicals and high energy, Las Vegas-style theatrical concert events to performing arts centers throughout four counties in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota areas and anticipates taking on additional touring venues throughout Florida in the coming months.

Our mainstage and touring  seasons include:

+ “Music Of The Knight: The Songs Of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber & Friends” -  Nov./Jan.

+ “Guys & Dolls” – Feb.

+ “Coast To Coast: Hitsville, U.S.A” – April

+ “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change – April/May

+ “Islands In The Stream: Kenny And Dolly” – TBA

+ “Judy & Liza: Beyond The Rainbow” – TBA

+ “The Kings Of Swing Series: The Legendary Bobby Darin” -  TBA

AUDITION INFO: This Is A General Call Audition.  Based on each production’s specific needs, we may or may not hold auditions for specific shows.  Auditions are by APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Please send an email request for an audition to Auditions@SalernoTheatre.com to set up an audition time.  When emailing, please include your theatrical resume and headshot if possible, as well as your schedule availability for audition and callback days.  All those auditioning are asked to prepare 16-32 bars of two separate pieces: a musical theatre selection and a 50′s/60′s/Motown selection.  Please bring sheet music in your key, as an accompanist will be provided.  Pre-recorded music auditions are acceptable.  A CD player will be provided.  Accapella auditions are strongly discouraged.  Please also come prepared for a dance/movement audition as some auditioned may be asked to move.  You may feel free to bring a change of clothes for a movement audition if   you wish.

NOTE TO FEMALES: We are looking for two specific types of female actresses for those auditioning for “Music Of The Knight”.  We are looking for a quirky, comedic soprano/Kristen Chenoweth-type.  We are also looking for an alto belt capable of singing Defying Gravity.  If auditioning for the comedic soprano, please have an appropriate character piece prepared in addition to your initial audition selections. If auditioning for the alto belt role, if asked by the panel, please be prepared to sing the final verse and chorus of Defying Gravity (from “So, if you care to find me, look toward the western sky” to the end of the song).

Both Salerno Entertainment and The Salerno Theatre Co. are professional, regional organizations. All artists receive either a flat stipend and/or a profit-sharing agreement as part of their participation in any production if selected.
