A STEADY RAIN – An Important Message from Todd Olson

An Important Message from Todd Olson
March 15, 2012

Seven days ago, the day before tech rehearsals were to begin, one of our two actors in A STEADY RAIN, Gene D’Allassandro, decided he was not able to complete his commitment to the production due to health concerns. The team at American Stage was faced with canceling the production all together, or finding someone who could learn fifty-four pages of material in six days.

By 4 p.m. the next day Justin Campbell had flown from New Jersey and was in our rehearsal hall hard at work. We canceled both previews…and now have decided to push our opening of A STEADY RAIN to Saturday, March 17 at 9:45pm.

In my 9 years as Producing Artistic Director here at American Stage, this has never happened, so I count us lucky. Justin, Drew DeCaro and director T. Scott Wooten are all pulling off a miracle so that theatre lovers will see A STEADY RAIN in all of its power.

American Stage Theatre apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates our patrons and community for supporting and understanding our decision to provide the best theatre experience for all.
