WATCH: SPAMALOT – Trailer and Photos

CHECK OUT our trailer (above) and promotional photos (below) for this year’s American Stage in the Park show: Monty Python’s SPAMALOT, directed by Jonathan Williams. You definitely don’t want to miss this St. Petersburg community tradition.

Monty Python’s SPAMALOT

“A no-holds-barred smash hit!” -The New Yorker

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, SPAMALOT adds swipes at Vegas glitz and Broadway conventions to the film’s anarchic spirit. The supremely silly musical retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, featuring a bevy of beautiful showgirls, cows, killer rabbits, and French people. (Did we mention a bevy of beautiful showgirls?)

Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical. Book and lyrics by Monty Python alum, Eric Idle, and a musical score by John Du Prez and Eric Idle; Spamalot “raises silliness to an art form! (NY Sunday Times).”

4000 Miles is the only play in American Stage’s 2015-16 season set in the 21st century, offering more irreverent humor and playful nods to contemporary culture than other offerings at Pinellas playhouses.”

-Julie Garisto, Tampa Bay Times, Review: ‘4000 Miles’ an amusing change of pace at American Stage

Audience Members

“I’ve never had a play touch me like that before.”

“You’re really able to relate to it, no matter what role you play in the family or where you are in the spectrum of life.”

“It’s a play for everybody.”
