American Stage Theatre Education Department is proud to present the first workshop from our Acting Advantage Corporate Training Program, our Acting for Life Seminar Series.  This series will consist of multiple workshops designed to help professionals and civic leaders who want to edge out the competition and communicate with dynamism and authenticity in the career marketplace. The first in this "series" will be an interactive Interview Workshop, Acing the Interview.

In today’s business arena, the job interview is a type of audition where professionals hope to get “cast” in real roles.  Since actors are trained to project dynamism, communicate with authority and manage nerves, the interview process shares a great synergy with the stagecraft  It is time to start “acting for life” and draw from actor-related exercises and techniques. This dynamic, interactive workshop will integrate principles of performance with interview strategies in order to project confidence and authenticity, make lasting impressions and refine the vocal and nonverbal skills needed to interview well.

Objectives include:

  • Speaking with authority and confidence
  • Crafting memorable stories
  • Managing body language and voice

Class is limited to the first 30 people enrolled.  Please bring $5 cash only to the SPC Downtown Campus, American Stage Box Office.  The workshop will be held in the Community Room of the SPC Downtown Campus, 163 Third Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
