FWD Fridays: Summer Camp at American Stage

Meet Harrison and Leanna,  American Stage’s Under 20 Ambassadors. In order to help shape the future of live theatre in Tampa Bay – American Stage offers free tickets to all of our mainstage shows to young people under the age of 20 through our UNDER 20 PASSPORT. Harrison and Leanna help us spread the word about all of the exciting programs at American Stage!

Hi, I’m Leanna Harting and I’m an Under 20 Program Ambassador here at American Stage!  I am a junior at Palm Harbor University High School and a proud member of Troupe 5590! This year, I had the privilege of performing in my school’s production of Mary Poppins, as well as be on the costume crew for The Diary of Anne Frank. I have been involved with theatre since I was 6 years old, and this is my second year volunteering with American Stage. Last year, I participated in the Hamilton musical intensive camp, and I had an absolute blast! We spent the whole week learning some of the songs from the show and creating choreography to go along with them. At the end of the week, we got to show off all our hard work in a performance for our family and friends.

American Stage Summer Camp Musical 2018

Hello, my name is Harrison Betz and I am also an Under 20 Ambassador at American Stage. Like Leanna, I am a junior at Palm Harbor University High School and a member of Thespian Troupe 5590. I’m excited to be volunteering for the second summer in a row and look forward to all of our crazy, theatrical adventures! Recently, I performed in my school’s production of The Diary of Anne Frank and Mary Poppins. I’ve had the greatest time becoming more involved in theatre and look forward to expanding my skills over the next few years!

Palm Harbor University High School’s MARY POPPINS

This summer, the two of us are both participating in The Greatest Showman Musical Intensive Camp through American Stage summer camp next week. We’re extremely excited to expand our performance skills and enhance our theatrical abilities. We hope to make many new friends who share our love of the theatre. We’re really excited to perform in the brand new theatre at Admiral Farragut. After the camp, we can’t wait to update you on our theatre experience!
