As Per Usual, 25-minute set

Audition Criteria & Things to Know:

To audition, please email with your first/last name, and team(s) below you would like to audition for. Please also include a headshot*, and resume**. You will then be given a timeslot.
No walk-ups – all auditioners MUST contact us to sign up in advance of July 21, 2018.

*Headshots can be simple! Just a clear photo of yourself that we can use for reference when considering team arrangements will be sufficient.

**Resumes can also be simple. There is no single approved format. Please list any performance experience, special skills (ex: intermediate guitar, or graphic design), education (performing arts/improv studies, workshops, etc), and anything else you think is relevant. Your performance in the audition will not be judged on your resume – it’s simply so we can get to know you even more, and consider the possibilities.

ASI L4 grads and alumni encouraged to audition. All performers will receive professional coaching by the director of the team/show as compensation plus modest financial stipends.

Seasonal Team A:

The Marvelous Marvin Show – directed by Ricky Wayne

Welcome to The Marvelous Marvin Show! This completely improvised, late-night talk show will take you on set and behind the scenes. Meet the guests, musical act, producers, director, stage manager and cast that put the show together. Each night, the special guests are based on audience requests, as the shenanigans unfold.
Runs Sept – Feb. 3rd Sundays @7pm (4th Sunday in Sept)
Auditions July 21st, 5pm-7pm

Seeking to cast 7-11 improv actors

Rehearsal schedule:
August 2018 – September 2018: 2nd and 3rd Saturdays, 5pm-8pm. Plus 3rd Sunday (day of show) 3pm-6pm.
October 2018 – February 2019:
2nd Saturdays only from 5pm-8pm & 3rd Sunday (or day of show) from 3pm-6pm

(On occasion rehearsals will be at Ricky’s home in Oldsmar instead of at AS – this will only happen in between improv training program quarters when we do not have classes on Saturdays).

Criteria: Must have completed ASI training program classes (at least through Level 3 with plans to complete L4 by Sept 2018), or be invited to audition (based on professional experience).

Audition Prep:
You will be doing scenes with others and a base reality will be given to you.
Please also prepare a one minute, self-written character-driven monologue with a strong point of view spoken to a live studio audience (A la the Level 3 character activity – feel free to email if you have questions about this).

Seasonal Team B:

Musical Improv (show title TBA) – music directed by Jeremy Douglass, directed by Tiffany Ford

Sing. Dance. Improv. A one-act improvised musical! All the scenes and songs are created live and in the moment. We take a title and location from the audience, and premiere a new musical each night.

Runs Sept – Feb. 3rd Sundays @7pm (4th Sunday in Sept)
Auditions July 21st, 3pm-5pm

Seeking to cast 6-8 improv actors

Rehearsal schedule: (average 3 rehearsals/month)
Mondays July 30, Aug 6 & 13, 7pm-9pm
Then moves to Wednesdays, Aug 22 through Feb
(Note: On average we will take 1 week of rehearsals off each month – exact dates off tbd with cast)

Criteria: Must have completed ASI training program classes (at least through Level 3 with plans to complete L4 by Sept 2018), or be invited to audition (based on professional musical performance experience).

Audition Prep:
Be ready to perform scenes into songs based on a prompt, and come prepared to move.

Alternate audition date/time options might be made available upon request.

INDIE/GUEST TEAMS (pre-existing local teams) will receive invitations to perform in IMPROV NIGHT as needed throughout the run.
