Internships and Apprenticeships at American Stage provide college students and recent graduates a chance to discover the inner-workings of a professional theatre—from production to finance, and everything in between—through hands-on experience and training by professionals in the field.

Teaching Artist Internships for Summer Camp 2019

This internship is perfect for current college students or recent graduates with a strong interest in theatre education and outreach. You will work hands-on to assist the teaching artists in our robust, growing, and process-oriented Summer Camp and Teen Institute for students in grades K-12. This is an excellent opportunity to work with professional theatre artists who have dedicated a portion of their career to theatre education. You will learn to:

  • Build lesson plans and create curricula.
  • Develop classroom management skills and strategies.
  • Grow your individual voice and style as a teacher.
  • Apply new and effective classroom and rehearsal activities.

Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with additional artistic and production areas of theatre, administration, and customer service are valued.

This position is 30 hours per week, for 6-10 weeks in early June through mid-August. College credit can be arranged.

Education & Arts Administration Internships for Summer 2019

This internship is perfect for current college students or recent graduates with a strong interest in Arts Administration at a professional theatre company. You will work directly with the administrative staff gain experience in coordinating education programs, developing and implementing marketing strategies, and assisting in development initiatives. This is a great opportunity to jump into the world of a professional theatre!

Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Administrative, customer service, marketing, or social media experience is valued.

This position is 20-40 hours per week, for 6-10 weeks in early June through mid-August. College credit can be arranged.
