"On par with the best political sketches of Saturday Night Live, the production running at American Stage Theatre Company is a prime-time hit. David Mamet destroys his intended targets with spectacular precision. Star (Micheal) Edwards channels Dick Cheney, Bob Newhart and Archie Bunker to pull off one of the best lampoons since Chevy Chase mocked Gerald Ford. Under Greg Leaming's direction, his comedic timing is impeccable."
- Kathy L. Greenberg, Tampa Tribune

"Mamet makes like Neil Simon. It's fun to see a Mamet play as concerned with jokes as manly truth telling. November starts out as farce, but it artfully evolves into something else."
- John Fleming, St. Petersburg Times

"Outrageous, a bit like David Mamet channeling Neil Simon. The cast attacks the script with strength and manic energy, especially the seemingly indefatigable Michael Edwards, who never leaves the stage. He plays the often moronic president with a surprising resilience and a determination."
- Jay Handelman, Sarasota Herald-Tribune

"A clever, wickedly witty satire. Mamet has tapped into the nation's collective frustration and exploited it to create a caustic, uproarious caricature of the highest office in the land. (Michael) Edwards takes Mamet's cartoon sketch of an odious and unpleasant president and effectively illustrates the conflicting aspects of his personality. November offers an indispensable opportunity to peel away the bleakness and intolerance surrounding the country's political stagnation to reveal the ridiculousness of the situation"
- Lee Clark Zumpe, Tampa Bay Newspaper

American Stage Theatre Company continues its first full season in the Raymond James Theatre with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet's new comedy, November, running June 9 thru July 4.

The must-see Tampa Bay premiere! This recent Broadway hit by playwright and political satirist David Mamet proves once and for all that there is no lower place than the highest office in the land. Upon learning that he lacks the funds to either campaign for re-election or to construct a legacy-ensuring library, the incumbent President taps an unlikely income source: the turkey industry. Thanksgiving, Native American casinos and the prospect of officiating a live, televised lesbian wedding all demand attention in this riotous, oval office romp. Very strong language (Mamet REALLY likes to use the "F" word).

November stars Michael Edwards (Tuesdays With Morrie), Wayne LeGette (Blithe Spirit), Chris Rutherford (Hamlet), Giles Davies and Sarah Gavitt.

"We haven't had Mamet on our season in far too long a time," said Todd Olson, American Stage's producing artistic director. "November is that perfect comedy to reintroduce Tampa Bay audiences to this modern master of story telling."
