An Important Programming Update / COVID-19 Update – May 1, 2020

At American Stage, we recognize that we must continue to be patient. It is not yet time for us to reopen our doors. As much as we miss you, we know that we must continue to wait before we come back together. The health and well-being of all demand that we remain cautious and deliberate. So, for now, we will continue to postpone our programming at least through the end of June.

Eventually, our doors will reopen. When they do, things will look a little different. As we plan for social distancing within the theatre, we will take every precaution to help us all feel safe and comfortable experiencing our live performances together once again.

    SILENT SKY

    2:00 pm
    2019.12.01
    Raymond James Theatre
163 3rd St N, Saint Petersburg, FL, United States

    America’s most popular modern playwright
    November 20 – December 22, 2019

When Henrietta Leavitt begins work at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s, she isn’t allowed to touch a telescope or express an original idea. Instead, she joins a group of women “computers,” charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who calculates projects in “girl hours”. Social progress, like scientific progress, can be hard to see when one is trapped among earthly complications in this luminous, witty and inspiring true story of a brilliant, history-making woman.
