Hannah Hockman recently graduated from Eckerd College with BA in Theatre with minors in Marketing and Music. She has spent two summers studying in New York City with The Atlantic Acting School and The Circle in the Square Conservatory. Her favorite roles include the lead role in Feinstein’s/54 Below concert of CALL IT IN THE AIR and Steve in SHE KILLS MONSTERS. She recently made her directorial debut with HEATHERS THE MUSICAL, Eckerd’s first student run musical. Hannah is excited to work with American Stage and to continue to grow as an artist. Education/Training: I just graduated from Eckerd College with a degree in Theatre, as well as studies in Marketing, & Music. I’ve also attended both Atlantic Acting School’s & Circle in the Square’s Summer conservatory programs.

What was your first experience with theatre?: Singing at Feinstien’s/54 Below! I got to do a concert with a couple friends and it was a blast!
Why did you want to be a part of the apprentice program?: I saw The Royale a couple years ago for a class and my Professor told me about the apprenticeship. I’ve wanted to be in the program ever since. I love how this program is a perfect transition from college into a career.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working in theatre?: I was going to school for marketing so I would probably be working with an ad agency or being a social media manager. I still really enjoy marketing and hope to do some while I’m working here.
Favorite play?: “Angels in America”
Favorite movie/T.V. show?: “Iron Man”
Who’s at the top of your playlist right now? Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A.
What do you hope to do after your apprenticeship/ career aspirations: I hope to continue my work as an actor, however my ultimate goal is to one day own a theatre and start a company.
Hobbies: Cricut-ing! I just got a cricut and I love making stickers, iron-ons, etc.

It’s a regular Friday night. What are you doing?: Going on walks with my dog, Finley, and watching sunset.

American Stage, a professional, AEA, non-profit theatre company, each year offers an Apprenticeship Program designed for early-career theatre professionals and recent college graduates looking to gain full-time, professional experience in their field. We seek passionate and motivated candidates interested in receiving on-the-job training from theatre professionals and valuable hands-on experience at a highly regarded nonprofit, equity theatre company with a 40-year tradition in St. Petersburg, FL.
Available apprenticeships include Acting & Production, Stage & Production Management, Design & Technical Theatre, Education & Outreach, and Arts Administration. Apprenticeships usually begin in late September and end in August of the following year. Only candidates who are able to commit full-time to the entire season are be considered.
