Depending on your situation, $4,000 is either a game-changing amount of money, or pocket change.
For American Stage, that number is the amount left until we reach out 2022 End Of Year goal. When does time run out? This Sunday, January 29.
“When we hit our end-of-year goal, it allows us to reassess. We can look at what we have now programming-wise, education-wise, outreach-wise, and look at how we can improve,” said Marygrace McManus, American Stage Arts Administration Fellow. “Our end-of-year goal gives us that road map for where to even start on our journey as we look to make our stories even more powerful and shows us how we can be more bold.”
This year, American Stage’s end-of-year campaign ran from November 14, 2022 - January 29, 2023. That includes only donations, not things like ticket sales.
Donations make up the bulk of American Stage’s revenue, even more so in the time after the pandemic. That last chunk of change may be small in comparison to our expenses, but it’s going to important places.
That’s why, with less than a week left before the end-of-year period closes, we asked American Stage staff what they’d like to do with $4,000.
"If we were to receive $4,000, I would fly the playwrights for the Lift Every Voice: New Play Festival in for the weekend and provide their housing and other transportation needs."
"I would return it to the community by inviting more speakers, and panelists, or even hosting open mic nights as free community events."
"I would purchase more interfacing/technology resources (i.e. smart tablets) to help run summer classes, and tickets at park so we can ease our service into a smoother process."
"If I had $4000 dollars I would work with local artists to create chalk art displays for all the shows this season."
It’s a hypothetical question, because it’s hypothetical money.
If you’re a longtime donor, or just a person with $20 to spare and a lot of love for local art, consider helping us reach our goal this year.
